Admissions
Admission Information
When you come in to our office upon arrival we ask that you leave your dog in the car until you have completed your paperwork.
A staff member will then meet you in our designated admission/departure area with your dog(s).
What to Bring with you:
- Your pet’s up to date vaccination papers (C5 for dogs)
- Emergency Contact Numbers
- Mastercard or Visa card*
When you arrive in the office we ask that you fill in the Admission Form, or you can download the Form now and bring it with you on the day to save time. The Admission Form asks for details that we need during your trip away such as any ongoing health issues with your pet, emergency contact numbers and next of kin.
The Admission Form also covers our office hours, issues on Canine Cough, authorisation for veterinary treatment and if your dog can share with a compatible friend or not. This form will be held for the duration of your dog(s) stay and will be returned to you upon collection of your dog(s) or do into the paper shredder.
Collections
Should you require a later check out than 12pm, please advise the office on check in as you will be charged for the day.
Admissions and collections outside office hours
We occasionally receive a request to drop off/collect outside our published times. Whilst we fully appreciate clients have plans, there are a number of determining factors which dictate our opening and closing hours.
Some of these factors are Council imposed, however in the main, they are down to our duty of providing scheduled periods of uninterrupted care for our guests; many of whom require a regime of medications, prescription diets, assisted toileting and hand feeding.
With the exception of medical emergencies or crisis, we ask that these times and policies are respected so that we can continue to offer our best care.
Why do we require your credit card details?
After hours Veterinary Emergency:
In the normal course of a day, should we require veterinary treatment for your pet, our vet invoices Granite Hill and we pass the cost on to you. In the event of after hours care however, the Emergency Vets will only accept a pet after a deposit has been paid (usually around $500).
Naturally we would immediately be in contact with owners should veterinary treatment be required, however sometimes an owner is on a plane, or in a country with no mobile reception – in which case we proceed with 100% veterinary care. On the Admission Form we ask you to authorise a limit that we can spend on veterinary care in the event your emergency number cannot be contacted. Of course we will continue trying to contact you during this time.
Someone other than yourself collects your dog or home delivery:
In the event a member of your family or a friend collects your dog or cat for you, or we are delivering them home – your card can be charged for your convenience prior to collection/home delivery.
Your admission contract is valid during the duration of your dog(s) stay and will be returned to you upon collection or if authorised by yourself shredded appropriately in the office.
