Daily Routine

Each morning our guests are placed into the recreation areas on a rotating basis, so staff can clean their units. During this time each dog is visually checked for any changes. Any morning feeds and or medications are administered. After a suitable play time all pets are returned to their units for their midday feeds.

We like to keep all guests quiet following the lunch to avoid any problems brought on by excess activity following a meal. We can also monitor any dogs that are being slow re feeding or extremely fussy.

During the afternoon they again receive a long playtime with a staff member playing ball or just spending quiet time with them.

As the day draws to a close all guest receive a bedtime treat as they are secured into their sleeping quarters for the night.

Play Time: We believe that our guests are happiest if they have plenty of time in our grassed recreation areas. To this end each day all guests in the bungalows receive two play times, one in the morning and another longer one in the afternoon.

Diet: Here at Granite Hill we feed a premium Australian made dry food plus a fully cooked chicken & vegetable loaf. Should we find your pet is extremely finicky we purchase ready cooked chickens to tempt them. If your pet has a particular dietary requirement you may bring this and we ensure you pet receives exactly what you supply.

Medications: Any medications your pet requires will be administered to your directions. We only medicate with drugs supplied by you.

Baths: Because your dog will have had a great time playing with his buddy we recommend that he/she receive a lovely hydrobath before returning home. This service carries a small charge.

Parasites: To avoid the possibility of your pet coming home with any unwelcome “hitch hikers” we ask that all guests be treated with a Spoton flea treatment and a broad spectrum worm tablet.

Veterinary Attention: Should your pet require veterinary attention we have a 24hour vet on call. Under these circumstances you will be contacted to keep you informed.
